Transformation
BEE
In 2004 Bytes Technology Group concluded one of the first BEE deals by partnering with Kagiso Strategic Investments who purchased 27% of the Bytes South African interests. Bytes Technology Group has become the Number One empowered ICT company in South Africa. The group has obtained a Level 2 accreditation on the DTI scorecard for 2010. The Level 2 AAA with value-add BBBEE rating allows our customers to claim 156.25% of their spend as Preferential Procurement with the Bytes Group.
As a value added reseller our customers can gain significant financial benefits from their IT spend with us. We seek the creation and development of jointly beneficial business associations with our customers of which both parties can enjoy measurable and tangible benefits.
Corporate Social Investment
Through various efforts, we contribute to the improvement of the lives of thousands of previously disadvantaged students and continue to place educational objectives as a priority in our CSI programmes. We select previously disadvantaged, unemployed and unskilled individuals for some of our programs. Their subsequent training in service methodology, processes and technical skills development form the basis of our pro-active learnership programs.
Environment
The responsible use and management of our natural resources are integral elements of Bytes' commitment to sustainable development and to the Altron Envirowatch campaign of which Bytes forms an integral part.
Managing the impact of our business on the environment forms an important part of our role as a responsible corporate citizen. The IT sector in which we operate is not classified as a high-impact industry but we are nevertheless committed to understanding its potential environmental effect and reducing our carbon footprint where possible. We also recognise that there are significant business benefits to be gained from implementing a climate change policy. These include cost savings from improved energy management, the security of an uninterrupted power supply, increased revenues and new markets such as providing low-carbon products and services, an energy efficient mortgage and branding/reputation benefits of marketing ‘carbon neutral’ products
and services.
ISO
Bytes Managed Solutions is an ISO 9001:2000 certified organisation. Our offices are managed by staff that provide consistent service delivery across all disciplines in accordance with the appropriate Quality Management procedures.
